Dolapo Ajakaiye, author, publisher, trainer, Assessor and HR Consultant.  She has her background in Secretarial Administration, Business Management  and Human Resource Management. In England, she worked in Retail, Health and Social Care, HR and briefly in the public sector and has pursued injustice in employment  and continuously advises and consults  on Human Resource Management.   Dolapo currently lectures Human Resource Management and Business Management  in a Further Education college.  She also tutors and assesses Health and Social Care.  Her writing interest started at school and she is an avid reader of fiction and non-fiction. 

Widely travelled both within and outside Africa, her personal life experiences both in Nigeria and England  coupled with her convictions inspired her writing her first book -  Searching Greener Pastures.  The book  tells the story of Gladys, an immigrant  from Lagos, Nigeria, who has come to London to study and hopefully gain a good job for her and her family. But what she finds in Britain is a culture of discrimination and intolerance towards immigrants that shocks her.

The novel highlights issues that are fiercely relevant to anyone living in today’s globalised world, especially in such a cosmopolitan city as London. Ethnic acceptance and social inclusion are crucial for our massively varied society to exist alongside one another. The book shines a light on the plight of immigrants in the UK who are caught between returning to their often dangerous homelands and staying in a country where they are sometimes unwelcome or where the government’s support systems are of no use to them.
